"Huckabee once joked
that his state was a "banana republic," and he certainly appeared to
run his state like one. In all, Huckabee has been investigated 14 times
in 14 years for ethics violations while in public office. He's been
admonished five separate times. Recently, he was criticized for
registering at Target for housewarming gifts after he and his wife
moved into a new home after leaving the governor's mansion....As
governor, he supported providing state services for illegal immigrants."
Health care: Supports the concept that the government should
ensure that
citizens have access to basic health care through managed care,
insurance
reforms, or state funded care where necessary.
Wrong. The federal government isn't in the business of
insurance,
health care, loans or any of these other monstrous entitlement programs
that
are bankrupting this nation. Huckabee knows nothing about the U.S.
Constitution, specifically Art. 1, Sec. 8 and the Tenth Amendment.
Huckabee is to be
commended for losing 120 pounds over a two year period through a
controlled weight loss program at the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences back in 2005.

Consulate in
LR rolls out a welcome mat
"“Welcome to Mexico,” Andres Chao, chief of the first
diplomatic
mission to locate in Arkansas, said to the gleeful crowd.....The move
to
establish a consulate in Arkansas was initiated nearly four years ago
by
then-Gov. Mike Huckabee, who visited Mexico and met with then-President
Vicente
Fox....The consulate will aid Mexicans regardless of their
immigration
status, Sarukhan said."

"Financial inducements arranged by former Arkansas Gov. Mike
Huckabee to establish a Mexican consular office in Little Rock may have
violated state law, according to an Arkansas attorney."
Why
is Huckabee Left Standing?
"But the more we learn about Gov. Huckabee, the more apparent
it
becomes the Hillary Clinton camp must be salivating at the prospect of
facing
him in the general election. Why? Several stories are swirling around
Huckabee
which raise serious questions about his judgment and ethics. The first
is
Huckabee's personal Willy Horton story. Several years ago, for reasons
that are
still unclear, Huckabee intervened in the case of a convicted rapist
named
Wayne Dumond. After Dumond made parole, he went on to rape again. The
next time,
he also murdered his victim:
"...the Times new reporting shows the extent to which Huckabee
and a key aide were involved in the process to win Dumonds
release. It
was a process marked by deviation from accepted parole practice and
direct
personal lobbying by the governor, in an apparently illegal and
unrecorded closed-door meeting with the parole board (the informal name
by
which the Post Prison Transfer Board is known)."
